Southern Ohio PGA WORKS Fellowship

What is the PGA Works Fellowship?

The PGA WORKS Fellowship allows for a one-year, paid immersion in a PGA Section’s Foundation operations. It aspires to be the most valuable entry-level employment opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to garner experience in all sides of the golf industry. PGA REACH Southern Ohio received its first PGA WORKS Fellow in 2018 as part of the partnership between PGA REACH and the Nicklaus Companies. Since then, each SOPGA Fellow has worked on elevating the PGA REACH Southern Ohio Foundation by assisting with the Junior Tour, Futures Tour, PGA Jr. League, Drive, Chip & Putt, and PGA HOPE programs.

Testimonies

Previous Southern Ohio PGA Works Fellows

Nicole Asbun - Southern Ohio PGA Works Fellow 2018-2019

"A very big event that I was fortunate to be part of was the PGA Reach Trustees meeting. The meeting took place at the Muirfield Country Club and I had the chance to be part of the meeting by introducing a bit about myself and my background and sitting alongside the trustees, PGA Reach board and Jack Nicklaus. Jack Nicklaus has always been known to be caring towards other through his service and charity work. Having him as a sponsor for the PGA Works Fellowship shows how much he cares for others. I felt very fortunate to be part of this meeting and it made me feel proud of sharing my story and letting the trustees know that Golf can open doors to people from different countries like me."

Abbey Zacharias - Southern Ohio PGA Works Fellow 2019-2020

Bretten Hill - Southern Ohio PGA Works Fellow 2020-2021

Imani Spartling - Southern Ohio PGA Works Fellow 2021-2022

“I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge within the game of golf, and the opportunity to increase my network with the golf community."

Cristina Hidalgo Reynoso - Southern Ohio PGA Works Fellow 2022-2023

"Throughout my life, I have experienced the game of golf from the player's perspective, but the opportunity of being a PGA Works Fellow has given me a whole new perspective of what golf can be. I like the thought of using golf to impact as many lives as possible, disregarding any Gender, Age, Race/Color, National Origin/Ancestry, Sexual Orientation, Disability, or background. Golf is a beautiful game, and I will always be amazed by the positive impact that it can have on someone's life."
