The Play Yellow Birdie Bash will feature club professionals from the Southern Ohio Section competing in a two-person scramble to raise money by making as many birdies as possible. Each player is responsible for recruiting as many donors as they can, who will pledge to contribute a donation for each birdie their team makes throughout the day.
Each team will play 72 holes in total, providing ample opportunity for birdies and donations. This all-day event is intended to be a fun and laid-back experience for all who participate, with the added bonus of raising money for a great cause.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit our Southern Ohio PGA REACH Foundation, the PlayYellow for Children’s Hospitals Campaign and the three local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in our Section; Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton.
The PGA REACH Southern Ohio Pro – 4 Am is one of the premier fundraising events for PGA REACH Southern Ohio. The event features teams of one SOPGA Professional and four amateurs playing 18-holes in a Shamble format.

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.
The program introduces the game of golf through a developmental 6-8 week curriculum, taught by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. All programs are funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by PGA Section Foundations, so the cost of programming is free to all Veterans.
PGA HOPE has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which enables Recreational Therapists to refer Veterans to the PGA HOPE program as a form of therapy. Through a robust program strategy, PGA HOPE aspires to create a physically and emotionally healthier Veteran community by shaping lives, changing lives, and possibly saving lives through the game of golf.
