Founded in 1946, the Southern Ohio Section of the PGA of America (SOPGA) is an association of more than 500 dedicated PGA Professionals. As one of the 41 Sections of the PGA of America, our mission is to create an environment for our members and the game to thrive. Covering the state of Ohio from an imaginary line between Martins Ferry, OH and Union City, IN, the Section includes Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton and areas in between.
The Southern Ohio PGA is anchored by the dual mission of the PGA of America: to establish and elevate the standards of the profession and to grow interest in the game. By providing world-class education, career services, and a robust tournament schedule, we empower our professionals to maximize their performance as coaches, operators, and business leaders. As stewards of the game, we represent the “Gold Standard” in golf, ensuring that every golfer—from the weekend enthusiast to the aspiring professional—receives the highest level of service and expertise.
Central to our community impact is PGA REACH Southern Ohio, the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of our Section. Our foundation is built on three core pillars: Youth, Military, and Access.
