Vision

To be a forward-thinking association, focusing on first-class programs, to advance our members, our communities and the game of golf in Southern Ohio, while honoring the history and values the game teaches.

Deliver best in-class programs
  • Deliver education with industry leading professionals, in-person and virtually
  • Elevate our tournament offerings, focusing on our core and lapsed members
  • Create impactful, engaging membership meetings while focusing on networking
Foster and welcome the next generation of golf professionals
  • Actively engage with our new members, associates and PGM students
  • Make a direct, in-person connection with the membership
  • Create on ramps for people interested in joining the association
Present our members as leaders in the industry
  • Promote our members and their impact in the community
  • Engage other associations and the industry as a whole to advance the game of golf

Update our governance structure to meet our organizational needs
  • Develop a new, direct, mission and vision
  • Evaluate the structure of our chapters, committees and board of directors
Foster an informed, engaged Board of Directors
  • Host annual Leadership meeting to include Officers, Board and Committee Members, to create alignment and establish a clear direction for each committee
  • Create a dynamic on-boarding process for all leadership
  • Develop technology to engage leadership
Develop our leadership 
  • Host professional development programs for Section leadership
Create engaging communication
  • Ask for feedback on a regular basis, ensuring we stay up to date with our members

Evaluate and develop programs
  • Refine our programs to meet the needs of the groups they serve
  • Create a scholarship program geared towards our SOPGA member families and those influenced by our programs
Create a sustainable funding model
  • Continue hosting and refining fundraising events (Pro Am and Birdie Bash)
  • Create an annual giving campaign and estate planning options
  • Work towards creating an endowment for PGA REACH Southern Ohio
Create an effective leadership structure
  • Redefine a five-person group of managing directors
  • Recruit a diverse annual “class” of trustees to serve a five-year term as a Trustee. 
Support those that support the game
  • Engage with and support other golf specific programs
  • Partner with organizations, when it makes sense, on mutually beneficial programs
