(Fairborn, OH) – The Southern Ohio PGA is excited and proud to announce that beginning in 2024 the Southern Ohio PGA will host the Ohio Women’s Open.

“It truly was a pleasure to host the tournament over the years,” noted Tim Whetstone, former president of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Women’s Open. “We were very thankful for you (the Southern Ohio PGA) to host this event for years to come. I know the tournament is in the proper hands for the golfers.”

Among the list of champions is Lisa Strom, an Ohio State University alum who captured the title three times. Strom currently serves as the Women’s Golf Head Coach at Ohio State University. Other notable champions include former Ohio State University golfer Jessica Porvasnik and former University of North Carolina golfer Allie White.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be the host for the Ohio Women’s Open moving forward,” noted Southern Ohio PGA Executive Director Patrick Salva. “As we revamp the event, we will prioritize honoring the event’s history in Ohio as well as introduce the game of golf to as many women as possible.”

The Southern Ohio PGA is actively working with a group of PGA and LPGA Members as well as local College Coaches and amateurs to help guide the strategic direction of the event.

More details on the Championship will be shared when they are finalized later in 2023.
