Dear SOPGA Members and Associates,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to our new SOPGA Executive Director, Patrick Salva! We were very fortunate to receive many resumes from highly qualified individuals for this position. After concluding the interview process, it was unanimous by the committee to offer the job to Patrick.
Patrick is currently serving as the Assistant Executive Director/COO of the Colorado PGA. In his current role, he manages the day-to-day operations of the Section including overseeing Tournament Operations, Marketing and Communications, as well as the three pillars of the Colorado PGA REACH Foundation.
A seasoned golf association administrator, Patrick joined the staff of the Colorado PGA in the spring of 2008. He was initially hired as the Tournament Manager before moving into the role of Tournament Director in 2012. He moved into the Marketing and Communications Director role in 2014 and has served in his current role since 2016. He is a native of Central Ohio having grown up in Fredericktown. Patrick attended Ohio University where he graduated in 2007 with a degree in Sports Management. He returned to Ohio University earning his master’s degree in Sports Administration in 2019.

I am incredibly proud of what we have been able to accomplish at the Colorado PGA and hope to put my knowledge and experience to use for the members of Southern Ohio. Along with his wife Sarah and eighteen-month-old daughter Kemper, the Salva family will relocate to Southern Ohio and Patrick will assume the role of our Executive Director around late April or early May.
I want to thank my fellow members of The Board and Executive Committee for their hard work and unwavering commitment to our section. It is both an honor and privilege to serve with you all. In addition, I wish to extend our sincere appreciation to Don Sweeting and Scott Kmiec of PGA Career Services, both of whom have been incredibly instrumental for our Section throughout this search process.
