DUBLIN, OH (May 27, 2022) – New Era Golf and their six Columbus area facilities have significantly increased their support of the Columbus military community through their support of Patriot Golf Days and the expansion of their PGA HOPE – Columbus Chapter to include the new Play Days concept.
“Our local veterans have given so much of themselves in protecting our country,” noted PGA HOPE Columbus Lead Instructor Jeff Olson, PGA General Manager at the Golf Club of Dublin. “The smallest way for us to thank them is through the support of Patriot Golf Days and expansion of PGA HOPE Columbus.”
New Era Golf, which owns and operates six Columbus courses (Bent Tree Golf Club, Clover Valley Golf Club, the Golf Club of Dublin, Glenross Golf Club, New Albany Links and Royal American Links) will support Patriot Golf Days set for this Memorial Day weekend. Each facility will donate a portion of their course’s fees to directly impact local families through Folds of Honor academic scholarships and PGA HOPE programs.
The PGA of America’s PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) program has been hosted at the Golf Club of Dublin since 2018. This program is designed to provide golf as a therapeutic rehabilitation tool for all military personnel. The lifetime sport of golf has proven to be an excellent outlet for activity and competition, but also allows veterans to assimilate back into their community through the social interaction the game provides. Through the program, PGA Professionals provide free instruction to all active duty and veterans who register for the program.
In 2022, the PGA HOPE Columbus clinic will take place on Saturday afternoons from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, beginning July 9th and concluding on August 13th.
New this year, the New Era properties will host a series of PGA HOPE Play Day’s following the PGA HOPE Columbus clinic. Graduates of the PGA HOPE Columbus clinic will be invited to play on a weekly basis in a two-person scramble format at each of the New Era properties. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide an avenue for the graduates to continue developing their golf skills while also building on the community aspects of the program.
