BLACKLICK, Ohio (August 2, 2021) – Congratulations to Doug Wade, PGA who claimed the Mid Ohio Golf Car Capital City Classic victory after a five-hole playoff at Jefferson Country Club against PGA Associate Member Joe Puch.
After a hot week in Cincinnati, players arrived at Jefferson Golf & Country Club to beautiful weather in Columbus for the Mid Ohio Golf Car Capital City Classic. They were greeted on the first tee by Jason Miller, representing the event’s title partner Mid Ohio Golf Car, a Yamaha Master Distributor. Jason welcomed each player & discussed the features they would notice in the Yamaha fleet of golf cars they’d be using to cruise around the course.
Joe Puch, Assistant Professional at Zanesville Country Club, opened his round with an exceptional six-under-par 30 which included eagleing both par-5 holes on Jefferson’s first nine. One group in front of Puch, Doug Wade, Head Professional at Sugar Valley Golf Club, opened his round one-under-par on the first nine then fired a five-under-par 31 on Jefferson’s final nine to claim the clubhouse lead at 66, six-under-par. Puch carded a 66, six-under-par after an even-par final nine to tie Wade for the lead. Once all players had finished for the day, Wade and Puch made their way back to the course to playoff for the victory. After tying twice on Jefferson’s first hole and ninth hole, they headed to Jefferson’s 18th hole where Doug Wade made his birdie putt to claim the Mid Ohio Golf Car Capital City Classic.
