COLUMBUS, Ohio – For Team YoYo, a birdie has always been worth celebrating. Now, it can mean something more.
Led by PGA of America Golf Professional Chris Yoder, PGA, Team YoYo is doubling their impact in 2026, launching another fundraiser ahead of their two PGA Jr. League Championship appearances benefitting PGA REACH Southern Ohio, the foundation arm of the Southern Ohio PGA.
Last year, the team raised more than $12,000 through the effort, turning their runner-up finish at the 13u PGA Jr. League Championship into support for programs that bring the game’s benefits to others.
This year, they’re doing that twice thanks to two teams with a shared purpose.

On Friday, October 23, Team YoYo’s 17u squad is making its first trip to the national championship, beginning play at Twin Warriors Golf Club in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico. The 13-and-under squad, which finished as runner-up at last year, will return to national championship November 11-15 at PGA Frisco’s Fields Ranch West in Frisco, Texas.
The team’s impact has extended beyond fundraising. Both Team YoYo squads have participated in multiple Smiling Fore Life events at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, bringing golf and moments of joy to children and families receiving care. Smiling Fore Life is part of PGA REACH Southern Ohio’s broader Birdie Bash initiative, which supports charitable work through the game of golf.

As both teams take the national stage, supporters can help turn their birdies into impact by making a one-time donation or pledging an amount for every birdie the players make.
Last year’s $12,000-plus effort showed what the team could accomplish together. This year, with two teams competing nationally and a growing connection to the children and families served through PGA REACH Southern Ohio, the opportunity is even greater.
