HAMILTON, Ohio (July 6, 2021) – Congratulations to Hamilton Elks’ Sean Arthur, PGA & his amateur teammates Justin Epure and Cody Coomer on their victory at the Southwest Pro-2 Am at Hamilton Elks.

The Southwest Chapter’s fourth Pro-Am of the season invited Section professionals to bring a team of two amateurs to Hamilton Elks Golf Club to compete at 75% of their handicaps in a 2 Best Ball format. 30 teams arrived at the course Monday, ready to brave the high temperatures and play some golf.

Although staying hydrated was the major key to performing, course knowledge proved to pay off as Hamilton Elks’ Director of Golf Sean Arthur, PGA and his teammates Justin Epure (a) & Cody Coomer (a) carded 13-under-par. Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club’s Director of Instruction Bob Sowards, PGA and his teammates Mike Sowards (a) & Randy Ross (a) thought they had secured the victory after carding a 12-under-par earlier in the day but the final group of the day from Hamilton Elks took home the prize by one stroke. Dave Bahr, PGA from Maketewah Country Club, Brian Jones, PGA from Kenwood Country Club and Chris Black, PGA from Valley View Golf Course and their amateur teammates tied for third place with scores of nine-under-par.

In addition to the team competition, each player also competed individually in three specific divisions. Bob Sowards, PGA finished at the top of the Main Professional Division with a score of six-under-par 66. Sowards also competed in the Senior Professional Division where his score was also at the top of the leaderboard. Amateur Alex Nikias, from the Tri County Golf Ranch team with Larry King, PGA, carded a one-under par 71 to finish as the Low Amateur.
