FAIRBORN, Ohio (May 10, 2021) – The Southern Ohio PGA Section has welcomed Imani Spratling to its staff as the 2021-2022 PGA WORKS Fellow.

Spratling, a Tennessee native, moved to Dayton, Ohio at the beginning of May to join the SOPGA Section staff as its newest PGA WORKS Fellow. She is an alumna of The University of Memphis where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sport & Leisure Management in 2019 and, most recently, completed their Sport Commerce Masters Program. Prior to joining the SOPGA Section team, her work experience consisted of marketing, sales, and youth engagement for various athletic organizations including The University of Memphis Athletic Department, the Memphis Grizzlies, the Memphis Redbirds, and 901 FC. Spratling also had the pleasure of being a head cheerleading and recreational gymnastics coach for young athletes in Memphis.

“I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge within the game of golf, and the opportunity to increase my network with the golf community,” Spratling responded when asked what she is looking forward to most about this position.

In her new role, Spratling will support the Section’s PGA REACH programming and fundraising efforts. She will work closely with Section staff to continue growing the SOPGA Junior Tour, PGA HOPE Program, and other Foundation programming. You will also see her on the course at Section events throughout the season. When not at work, Spratling enjoys traveling to different cities to explore their individual stadiums, arenas and sports facilities. Outside of sports, she also enjoys shopping & working out in her free time.

“We’re incredibly excited to continue the PGA WORKS Fellowship here in Southern Ohio and are looking forward to Imani playing an integral role on our team,” noted Patrick Salva, Southern Ohio PGA Executive Director. “We’re excited to have someone with Imani’s background on the business side of professional sports and hope to learn from her throughout the next year.”

Spratling is the fourth PGA WORKS Fellow in the Southern Ohio Section since the program began in 2018. The PGA WORKS Fellowship provides the opportunity for a one-year, paid immersion in a PGA Section’s Foundation operations. The entry-level experience offers a taste of what a career in the golf industry can look like by introducing participants to all facets of the industry. The program is part of the PGA WORKS strategic initiative designed to diversify the golf industry’s workforce. PGA WORKS is funded by PGA REACH, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America.
