BRADENTON, Fla. – It took a while to get the irons dialed in but once he did, Bob Sowards showed the ball-striking form that’s powered his exceptional run of seven made cuts in seven appearances at the Senior PGA Championship. His 2-under 70 in the final round at The Concession Club was good enough to move up to T59. He finished the week at 5-over.

“I hit the irons a lot better,” Sowards told the PGA of America on Sunday. “I put a new set of irons in the bag, new shafts, and I was hitting them so far the first three days. I dialed in the distance instead of knocking it over every green, and so for next week’s PGA Professional Championship (at Bandon Dunes), I’m gonna go back to my steel shafts.”
That 2-under 70 was the low round of the day for the 10 Corebridge Financial Team members who made the cut at The Concession Club. Justin Hicks was the low PGA Professional in the field, finishing T17. Eight other PGA of America Professionals made the cut.

Up next is the PGA Professional Championship at Bandon Dunes. 18 members of the Corebridge Financial Team at the Senior PGA Championship will travel to the Oregon coast to compete. Joining them from the Southern Ohio Section are: Michael Auterson, Jared Jones, Ben Kern, Chris Muse, Daniel Sorgini and Chase Wilson.
PGA Professionals who finish in the Top 20 will make the Corebridge Financial Team for the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Philadelphia.
