FAIRBORN, OH – The Southern Ohio PGA is excited to announce the 2024 SOPGA Tournament Operations Intern team – Joseph Najm, Keegan Windle, Charlie Nowinksi, and Cade Erbacher will make up the team for the 2024 season.

Joseph Najm of Cleveland, OH is currently a student at The Ohio State University pursuing a degree in Sport Industry. Najm is set to graduate in December 2024 with the hopes of opening a world class golf training facility in the future. He is an avid Cleveland sports fan and is excited to learn more about the golf industry and meet new people.

Keegan Windle of Springfield, OH is an SOPGA Jr. Tour alumnus currently competing as a member of the men’s golf team at Muskingum University. Windle is studying Sports Administration at Muskingum and looking forward to learning how to make the tournament experience the best it can be for all players. He hopes to continue to work in golf after graduation, ideally somewhere warm where he can play year-round.

Charlie Nowinski of Columbus, OH has just completed his junior year at Bowling Green State University studying Sport Management. In addition to his extensive internship experience at BGSU, Charlie is a member of the cross country team and runs up to 70 miles per week during his training. He is most looking forward to learning how the operations side of golf tournaments work and broadening his knowledge of the sports industry as a whole.

Cade Erbacher of North Royalton, OH joins the team from the Professional Golf Management program at Eastern Kentucky University. Erbacher has spent time working at various green grass facilities and is looking forward to learning how the administrative side of the golf business works. Cade is excited to dive into the golf industry and obtain PGA of America Membership upon his graduation in 2025.

The Southern Ohio PGA Section Tournament Operations Internship began in 2013 with the goal of providing work experience in the golf industry to college-aged students. The primary responsibility of the Tournament Operations Interns is to assist with all aspects of the SOPGA Junior Tour and Section Tournament schedules. The seasonal team operates each event from pre-event set-up, on-course pace of play monitoring and Rules of Golf assistance, player scoring, communications, and post-event clean-up.  

The Summer 2025 Tournament Operations Internship Application period will open in October 2024. This is a full-time, three-month, hourly paid position. Please email sopgajrtour@pgahq.com with any questions about the internship program in the meantime.
