WEST CHESTER, OH (September 26, 2022) – Congratulations to Dan Gage, PGA and Bob Sowards, PGA on their round of 66, six-under-par to claim the 2022 Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company Fall Pro-Pro Championship at Wetherington Golf & Country Club!
Fall is officially in the air around the Southern Ohio PGA Section and the Century Equipment Pro-Pro Championship brought together 50 players for a day of fun competition in teams of two. 2020 Champions Dan Gage, PGA Director of Golf at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club and Bob Sowards, PGA Director of Instruction at Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club teamed up for the annual four-ball stroke play event. Beginning the shotgun start on the 12th hole, the pair started hot early going three-under-par in their first seven holes. They strung together pars and birdies on the front-nine until a bogey on the eighth hole cost them a stroke. A final birdie on the 10th hole helped them post a score of six-under-par, 66.

Six-under-par was a popular score at the Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company Fall Pro-Pro Championship with another team carding a final score of 66. Ricky Denny, PGA Assistant Professional at Jamaica Run Golf Course and Chris Muse, PGA Teaching Professional at Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club carded four birdies and one eagle to finish tied in first place. The scorecard playoff went down to the final three holes with Gage and Sowards earning the top spot on the leaderboard.

The day didn’t end after just 18-holes of fun as players on the top-8 teams headed back onto the course for the Century Shootout! In addition to the top two teams who finished the Pro-Pro Championship at six-under-par were six teams finishing four-under-par or better during the round. The Century Shootout consisted of the top-8 teams competing in a four-hole, alternate shot format with the two highest scoring teams being eliminated after each hole. Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club’s Andy Montgomery, PGA and Golf Club of Dublin’s Jeff Olson, PGA battled to the final hole against Gage and Sowards, who won the Century Shootout in addition to the Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company Fall Pro-Pro Championship.

This year’s premier event was made possible with the support of many of our outstanding Southern Ohio PGA partners. Century Equipment has been a longtime supporter of the Section and we’re excited to extend the partnership with their parent company, a Jerry Pate Company. Local Club Car Sales Representative for Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company Tim Cunningham was on-site throughout the day to welcome players, cheer them on, and congratulate the champions.
Southern Ohio PGA partner Evolve Golf was also on-site to cheer on each player throughout the day. Sales Representative Blake welcomed players to the ninth tee for our Section’s Account Manager Jonathan Jacey, PGA and conducted the Evolve Golf Total Distance Challenge measuring player’s drives on the par-5 hole. Congratulations to the Total Distance Challenge winners: Brad Loomis, PGA from Miami View Golf Club, Chase Wilson, PGA from Columbus Country Club and Mike Thomas, PGA from Vineyard Golf Course!
