(Fairborn, OH) – PGA REACH Southern Ohio is thrilled to announce that the Play Yellow Birdie Bash will be back in 2022! The event returns for the second year at Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in Powell, OH on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. In its first year, the event raised nearly $250,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and PGA REACH Southern Ohio.
“We’re thrilled to be hosting the Play Yellow Birdie Bash for the second time,” noted Southern Ohio PGA President Pat Bernot, PGA Director of Instruction at GOLFTEC – Easton. “This event truly brought the golf community together in Southern Ohio and we look forward to building on the success while planning for the future of the event.”
In partnership with Play Yellow and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, PGA REACH Southern Ohio is hosting the event to raise money for the local children’s hospitals in Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton.
Based on the incredibly successful 2021 event, PGA REACH Southern Ohio was able to make a significant difference in the Southern Ohio community. The organization launched a scholarship program in 2021 and has already grown that program with the recent announcement of two brand new annual scholarships in 2022. The organization also introduced a new grant program to support juniors on their quest to play the game.
Furthermore, the success of the Birdie Bash allowed the expansion of the PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) program from two to four chapters in 2021. Continued expansion of the PGA HOPE program in 2022 is planned to impact more veterans in our local communities and to provide them more outlets to play the game of golf.
The success of the program has expanded outside of Southern Ohio. In 2022, multiple PGA of America Sections across the country will adopt the Play Yellow Birdie Bash theme as they strive to fundraise for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
PGA REACH Southern Ohio supports three main pillars: Youth, Military and Inclusion. Through these pillars, the foundation hopes to grow the game of golf and help better the lives of everyone involved. A portion of the money raised through this event will help support programming designed to enhance the lives of our military veterans, youth golfers and those that wouldn’t otherwise be introduced to the game of golf.
Corporate Partners
PGA REACH Southern Ohio is looking for corporate partners to help support the event. There are six opportunities to come on board as “Bash Partners” to help support the event.
