Loveland, OH – On a dreary, damp day, 2016 Champion Tim Krapfel, PGA put together a steady, consistent round to take the first round lead at the Southern Ohio PGA Senior Professional Championship. Krapfel, the PGA Head Professional at Bel-Wood Country Club, made five birdies and just one bogey in posting a four-under-par 68.

In second place is the duo of Barry Hinckley, PGA and Dave Bahr, PGA. Hinckley, the PGA Head Professional at Jefferson Golf and Country Club, equaled Krapfel’s birdie count while making one more bogey. Bahr, the PGA Head Professional at Maketewah Country Club, made six birdies and two bogeys.

In all, twelve players posted rounds of even-par or better.

Players are competing for four qualifying spots into the 2020 Senior PGA Professional Championship to be played at PGA Golf Club, October 15-18, 2020 in Port St. Lucie, FL. Bob Sowards, PGA is exempt into the championship as a past winner. Bahr is exempt into the championship based on his finish in the Senior Stroke Play Championship during the 2020 Winter Championships played this previous January.

The final round will begin on Thursday with tee times off the first hole at 8:00am. The leaders will tee off at 9:40am.
