FAIRBORN, OH (February 2, 2022) – The 77th Southern Ohio PGA Professional Championship is set to be played August 15 – 16, 2022 at the historic Miami Valley Golf Club in Dayton, Ohio.

Located four miles from the heart of the city, Miami Valley Golf Club has provided an exceptional golf experience for more than 100 years. The 18-hole Donald Ross designed golf course is an exciting challenge to amateurs and professionals alike as the club has hosted various local and national tournaments throughout the years highlighted by the 1957 PGA Championship. Lionel Hebert defeated Dow Finsterwald 2 & 1 to win the final match play format of the event. As recently as 2021, Miami Valley Golf Club has hosted the SOPGA Individual Match Play Championship.

The 2022 Southern Ohio PGA Professional Championship is a 54-hole, individual stroke play event where PGA Professionals throughout the Southern Ohio Section compete for their chance to advance to the National PGA Professional Championship. Players who finish in the top-5 spots on the leaderboard after the two-day competition will secure their spot in the National Championship while the next four players will become alternates for the final event.
