DAYTON, OH – There’s hot and then there’s whatever Jon McDonald is currently doing on the golf course. McDonald kept is blazing month of July going at Dayton Country Club, winning the 48th Southern Ohio PGA Assistant Professional Championship with rounds of 68-67. His 5-under score bested Taylor Suggs by three shots and further showcased the exceptional golf he’s been playing over the last few weeks.

McDonald has won or tied for first in the last three events, including a T1 finish at the Pro-Assistant Championship, a victory at the Queen City Classic and the Assistant PPC.
His last four rounds in SOPGA events have all been in the 60s, as well.
With his second place finish, Taylor Suggs booked his trip to the National Assistant Professional Championship in November. Taylor Holt will join him as the other qualifier from the SOPGA. The National Assistant PPC is November 13-16 at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie.
