ZANESVILLE, Ohio (July 25, 2022) – Congratulations Jared Hoelzen, the 2022 SOPGA Classic Champion. Hoelzen carded a round of four-under-par, 68 at Zanesville Country Club to capture his first victory in the Southern Ohio PGA Section.

Hoelzen, an Associate Assistant Professional at Scioto Country Club, opened his round with a par on Zanesville Country Club’s twelfth hole in the event’s shotgun start. Beginning in the middle of the course didn’t bother him one bit. Hoelzen kept a steady pace of 14 pars on his card while adding four birdies on the ninth, tenth, thirteenth and eighteenth holes. His final score of 68 earned him his first victory of the season in the Main Division by two strokes and in the Associate Tour by three strokes.

In addition to Hoelzen, seven players carded rounds under par at Zanesville Country Club. Kyler Booher, PGA Director of Golf at Miami Shores Golf Club; PGA Associate Assistant Professional at Coldstream Country Club, Evan Bryan; and Ricky Denny, PGA Assistant Professional at Jamaica Run Golf Course finished in a three-way tie for second place at two-under-par, 70.
