FAIRBORN, Ohio (January 20, 2022) – The Southern Ohio PGA is proud to announce that four members have been appointed to fill At-Large Director roles for 2022. Joe Falardeau, Jeff Grant, Jim Simminger and Ashley Thomas were selected by the Board of Directors to serve one-year terms, from December 2021 through October 2022.

Joe Falardeau, PGA Head Professional at Scioto Country Club, previously served on the Southeast Chapter Board of Directors, most recently as the Secretary of the Chapter. For 2022, Joe will lead the Junior Golf Committee. This committee is focused on growing junior programs under the Southern Ohio PGA umbrella, advocating for the junior programs with fellow Southern Ohio PGA members and creating a long-term plan for the junior golf programs.

Jeff Grant, PGA General Manager/COO at NCR Country Club, is serving on the Section Board for the first time after previously serving on the PGA of America’s Employment Committee among other industry organizations. Grant earned his PGA Certification in General Management and is a Certified Club Manager through the CMAA. He will lead the Play Yellow Birdie Bash task force, lending operational and strategic guidance to the annual fundraiser put on by PGA REACH Southern Ohio, in conjunction with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Jim Simminger, PGA Sales Rep with Trackman, previously served on the Southwest Chapter Board of Directors, most recently as the Secretary of the Chapter. Simminger will lead the Membership Committee which will be focused on the selection of speakers for SOPGA Spring and Fall Meetings as well as creating the rest of the education schedule. Furthermore, they will work to welcome new Southern Ohio PGA Members and Associates and evaluate the current mentoring opportunities in the Section.

Ashley Thomas, PGA, Instructor at GOLFTEC – BlueAsh, previously served on the Southwest Chapter Board of Directors, most recently as an At-Large Director. For 2022, she will steer the Women’s Task Force, focused on elevating current and future female-focused SOPGA events,  and working with local women’s professional tournaments to create a deeper connection with the local golf community.

All four will serve a one-year term following the adoption of the new Long Term Strategic Plan at the Southern Ohio PGA Fall Meeting. At the 2022 Southern Ohio PGA Fall Meeting, an election will be held to select two members to serve two-year terms and two members to serve one-year terms. All four appointed board members will be eligible to serve.
