DAYTON, OH (September 27, 2021) – Congratulations to Ryan Coll, PGA and Chase Wilson, PGA on their round of 64, eight-under-par to claim the 2021 Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company Fall Pro-Pro Championship at Walnut Grove Country Club! 

Southern Ohio PGA Professionals came to play at the annual Fall Pro-Pro Championship to kick off the fall season in Ohio. 64 players arrived on the breezy morning for a day of fun competition in teams of two. Columbus Country Club’s Director of Golf Ryan Coll, PGA and Director of Instruction Chase Wilson, PGA got off to a steady start beginning on the 18th hole at Walnut Grove Country Club. The team’s round started to heat up in their final eight holes and Coll and Wilson carded a score of 64, eight-under-par. 

Eight-under-par was a popular score at the Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company Fall Pro-Pro Championship with two teams, in addition to Coll and Wilson, carding final scores of 64. Cincinnati’s Vineyard Golf Course’s Sam Arnold, PGA and Mike Thomas, PGA carded six birdies and one eagle to finish tied in first place. Bob Stephens, PGA and Casey Lewis, PGA from Sycamore Creek Country Club in Dayton also finished the day tied in first place with six birdies and one eagle on the course.

New for 2021, players on the top-8 teams headed back onto the course for the Century Shootout! In addition to the three teams who finished the Pro-Pro Championship at eight-under-par were five teams finishing five-under-par or better during the 18-hole round. The Century Shootout consisted of the top-8 teams competing in a four-hole, alternate shot format with the two highest scoring teams being eliminated after each hole.  Sugar Valley Golf Club’s Doug Wade, PGA and Hickory Woods Golf Course’s Mike Auterson, PGA carded a five-under-par 67 in the Fall Pro-Pro Championship and won a scorecard playoff to make the Century Shootout. They battled to the final hole against Coll and Wilson, who made a birdie to win the Century Shootout in addition to the Century Equipment, a Jerry Pate Company Fall Pro-Pro Championship.

This year’s premier event was made possible with the support of many of our outstanding Southern Ohio PGA partners. Also welcoming players to the event was Christa Petitt representing supporting partner Adidas. 

New Southern Ohio PGA partner Evolve Golf was also on-site to cheer on each player throughout the day. The Section’s Account Manager Jonathan Jacey, PGA represented Evolve Golf and conducted the Evolve Golf Total Distance Challenge measuring player’s drives on Walnut Grove Country Club’s par-4 second hole. Congratulations to the Total Distance Challenge winners: Danny Sorgini, PGA from Blacklick Woods, Darrin Grove from The Golf Club and Kyler Booher, PGA from Miami Shores Golf Course!
