NEW ALBANY, Ohio – Congratulations Sam Arnold, PGA; the 2022 New Albany Classic Champion. Arnold carded a round of seven-under-par, 65 at New Albany Country Club to capture the final 2022 Southern Ohio PGA Section Classic Series victory.
Arnold, the General Manager at the Vineyard Golf Course in Cincinnati, ended the 2022 SOPGA Classic Series strong by recording nine birdies at New Albany Country Club. A birdie on the first hole got him started quickly until a bogey on the second put him back at even-par. Four birdies in a row helped him close out the front nine at four-under-par. The putts continued to drop for Arnold with four more birdies on the final nine. With an 18th hole bogey, he finished the back nine at three-under-par to post a total score of seven-under-par 65.
Finishing close behind at six-under-par 66 was Chase Wilson, PGA. The Director of Instruction at Columbus Country Club posted a steady round at New Albany Country Club with six birdies on his card. Claiming third place in the tight race at five-under-par 67 was Michael Auterson, PGA. The Head Professional from Hickory Woods Golf Course carded just one birdie to open, but made a run on the back nine with four birdies. The New Albany Classic Main Division top-10 was rounded out by 10 players posting rounds of one-over-par or better.
