The Southern Ohio PGA is saddened to learn of the tragic passing of William “Bleu” George, son of Southern Ohio PGA Professional Cory George.

William “Bleu” George, 35, lost his life in a tragic bicycle accident on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Bleu, a native of Lancaster, OH, was an Associate Professional at The Venice Golf and Country Club in Venice, FL. He was the champion of the 2017 SOPGA Open among many other competitive accomplishments.

Cory George, PGA, is a longtime member of the Southern Ohio PGA. The owner/operator of Valley View Golf Course until late 2021, was the 1998 SOPGA Professional Champion and recently served as the captain of the Southern Ohio team in the Ohio Cup.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, January 14th, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home (436 N Broad St. Lancaster, OH 43130). Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15th, at 10 am at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church (1596 George Rd NE, Lancaster, OH 43130), right next to Valley View Golf Club, and burial will take place following the service.

All who attend are welcome to join family and friends at the clubhouse afterwards for Bleu’s favorite food when in town, Pink Cricket Pizza.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
