FAIRBORN, OH (February 10, 2022) – The Southern Ohio PGA is excited to announce the 2022 SOPGA Tournament Schedule highlighted by the 5th SOPGA Tour Championship returning to the historic and newly renovated Scioto Country Club.

Opening in 1916, Scioto Country Club was the first 18-hole golf course in Central Ohio. Through multiple renovations the Donald Ross designed course continues to be one of the top ranked courses in the country known for its strategic routing and precise shot-making demands. In it’s more than 100 year history, the northwest Columbus facility has been home to some of the top amateur and professional players including one of the game’s greatest players, Columbus-native Jack Nicklaus. Scioto Country Club is also part of an elite group of clubs that has hosted five different major championships – the U.S. Open (1926), Ryder Cup (1931) PGA Championship (1950) and U.S. Amateur Championship (1968) as well as two U.S. Senior Opens (1986, 2016)

The Southern Ohio PGA is excited to be a part of Scioto Country Club’s rich tournament tradition hosting the 5th SOPGA Tour Championship October 18-19, 2022. PGA Professionals throughout the Southern Ohio Section will have the opportunity to earn points at events on the 2022 Tournament Schedule. The top-30 players on the main points list along with the top-12 players on the Senior points list will qualify for the Tour Championship at the end of the season. Registration for events will begin on March 1, 2022.
