Powell, Ohio — There was no issue braving the rain and occasionally chilly conditions at the 2025 Birdie Bash. Southern Ohio PGA of America Professionals were on a mission at Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club; to officially cross over the $1 million threshold in total charitable giving through the five Birdie Bashes in SOPGA history.

They did just that…and then some.

The Southern Ohio PGA is proud to announce that the 2025 Play Yellow Birdie Bash raised more than $183,000 in support of children’s health and community-based golf programs. Proceeds from the event will benefit Dayton Children’s, Cincinnati Children’s, Nationwide Children’s Hospitals, and PGA REACH Southern Ohio.

The dynamic and vibey trio of Andy Montgomery, Alex Brickley and Max Helgreen took advantage of their home game at Kinsale and retained their birdie title from 2024. They racked up 68 birdies, Tuesday. The Lefty’s, a duo of Andrew Muhich and Kyle Sanders, took second place with 59. Two teams tied to make the podium in third. Doug Wade and Chad Gilligan made 54 birdies as did Columbus Country Club’s Ryan Coll and Chase Wilson. In total, SOPGA pros dropped 816 birdies.

Scioto Country Club’s Joe Falardeau and Chris Yoder took the top spot in total money raised with more than $40,000. The team from Muirfield Village of Peter Dornisch and Ty Drobot grabbed the second spot, cruising well north of $16,000. CCC’s Coll and Wilson grabbed spot #3 at well-over $14,000.

The Birdie Bash benefits the three Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that serve the region encompassing Central Ohio, Southwest Ohio and the greater Dayton area. It’s also the principle fundraiser for the Southern Ohio PGA’s foundation, PGA Reach Southern Ohio. Funds raised with the foundation benefit junior golf programs, military and active duty Veteran outreach as well as diversity and inclusion efforts within the golf industry.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community,” said Southern Ohio PGA Executive Director, Patrick Salva. “The reach of our PGA of America Professionals is endless and Birdie Bash gives us the chance to demonstrate how that reach extends beyond the course.”

2025 was the fifth iteration of the SOPGA Play Yellow Birdie Bash and now, the total amount raised through those efforts exceeds $1.1 million dollars.
