Columbus, OH – The PGA REACH Southern Ohio Foundation is excited to announce the return of its highly anticipated Play Yellow Birdie Bash (PYBB) in 2025 as well as a massive milestone for the Foundation’s flagship fundraising event. The event is set for Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in Powell, Ohio.

The event is hosted in partnership with Play Yellow, a program of the Children’s Miracle Network, with funds directed to the three CMN facilities in our region, Nationwide Children’s, Dayton Children’s and Cincinnati Children’s Hospitals. Since its inception in 2021, the Birdie Bash has raised over $943,000 and in 2025, the Birdie Bash will surpass $1,000,000 in total charitable giving.

These hospitals have used past donations to continue providing world class medical care for children as well as funding innovation in pediatric medicines and lending support to families in need throughout their child’s health journey. Those resources allow child life programs to thrive and provide robust treatments and therapies that cover the entire spectrum of children’s medicine.

Through the Play Yellow Birdie Bash, PGA REACH Southern Ohio has also made a broader impact in the community, supporting initiatives aimed at youth, military veterans, and underrepresented groups in golf. A portion of the funds raised will help support these programs, which include scholarships for junior golfers, golf training opportunities for veterans, and initiatives that introduce golf to diverse communities.

Birdie Bash paved the way for expansion of PGA H.O.P.E. (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) programs, bringing the therapeutic benefits of golf to both active duty military members and veterans and reducing the number of vets on the waitlist. That footprint expands nationally this May when a team of PGA HOPE graduates from Southern Ohio play in the 2025 Secretary’s Cup at Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Secretary’s Cup celebrates the HOPE Program by playing the annual event in conjunction with the PGA Championship host city and takes place the week before the PGA of America’s marquee men’s major championship.

The Play Yellow Birdie Bash’s success spans the entire United States, with 16 total Birdie Bashes across the nation that have raised over $4 million dollars. The number of Birdie Bash events across the country increases every single year with five more added to the nine events in 2024.
