2022 Greater Cincinnati Team Challenge

supported by Montgomery Inn

A virtual draft will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 7:00 pm.

2022 marks the 33rd season of the Greater Cincinnati Team Challenge supported by Montgomery Inn! This event has helped build camaraderie and competitiveness among golf professionals in the Southern Ohio PGA Section.  This season-long challenge has also raised more than $100,000 for various charities within the Section.

  • Team captains will be identified by the 2021 POY standings
  • Team size will be determined by the number of Professionals registering for the Team Challenge.  If there is an odd number, previous Team Challenge players will have seniority.
  • Eight tournaments are designated as Team Challenge events.
  • Team scores will be a preset number of balls counted per hole (better ball).  For example, if we have teams of 5, it will be the 3 low scores on each hole to represent the team score.
  • Each event will have a team challenge purse.  Team members playing in that event will split any earnings for that event equally.  For the season long purse, players must play in 50% of the events played to be eligible to receive any earnings.
  • The 8/22/22- Losantiville C.C. event will be the Team Challenge Championship with a larger purse.
  • Any events canceled will not be rescheduled.

2022 Team Challenge Benefits – PGA HOPE & Folds of Honor

During the Greater Cincinnati Challenge events, contestants will be asked to contribute a one-time donation or an amount per birdie for the team challenge events to be donated to the PGA HOPE program and Folds of Honor Foundation. Participation in the pledges is strictly voluntary. If you would like more details or to make a pledge, please contact Tom Bach at Sharon Woods at (513) 769-4325 or Jim McDonough at Hickory Woods (513) 575-3900.

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere)

PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social and emotional well-being.

The program introduces the game of golf through a developmental 6-8 week curriculum, taught by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency. All programs are funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by PGA Section Foundations, so the cost of programming is free to all Veterans.
